![]() ![]() Fort Wayne has an interesting history. Its boom time came in the early 1800's when the Wabash & Erie Canal changed the paths of transportation for commerce between resources and the east coast. ![]() Mix 95 - WUME 95.3 Paoli, Indiana doesn't have a web site. Imojean Apple took me in and gave me a start in radio. She had me read the news in the mornings for just about the entire calendar year of 1995. I was really bad at it. I like to think I got better. The challenge was to write copy that Network Indiana would buy for their statewide wire service. Eventually I was writing stringer reports that they used with little editing. Either I was getting better at broadcast copy or they got tired of editing. Taylor Bennett was extremely patient with me. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Picture of the Day I enjoy visiting Seldovia,
across Kachemak Bay. Seldovia was at one time larger than Homer. It's
not connected to any roads other than the marine highway. The name
Seldovia comes from the Russian for "herring." It's history goes back
to the mid to early 1800's when the Russians were the first whites to
explore the area.
